MANTLES. What are they and how do they operate?

We see the first mention of mantes in the story of Elijah and Elisha. Elijah said to his predecessor that “if you see me when I am taken from you, you will have what you ask.” This was Elisha’s request for a double portion of the spirit that was on Elijah. 2 Kings 2:10

Elisha was tested several times. Elijah turned to him and said, “I know the journey is long. Why don’t you stay here and rest while I go on.” Even if Elisha was tired from the journey, he refused to let Elijah out of his sight. He refused to camp out or plateau where he was. He knew He had to keep going to get all God had for him. 

THIS IS A KEY!

God spoke to me that He doesn’t want us plateauing at one level. God has MORE! Stagnation is not in God’s plan for us. He wants to continually take us higher. As He invites us higher, we have to let go of everything that would hinder our increase. As we go up the mountain with God, you can’t take everything with you. This is a word for someone today. You have to shake off the hindrances that are keeping you from your next level. When you are going higher in God, not everything in your life can go with you. This includes activities, and even people. 

PASS THE TEST

There’s usually a test before promotion. Every time God has taken me to a new level there was a test to face. Whether that was a test of my attitude, a character test, or some other test. You can PASS THE TEST to go higher. It may even be the test to choose to plateau and stay where you are or to KEEP GOING so you get all God has for you. 

MANTLES

A mantle is a spiritual clothing that empowers you to do things BEYOND you natural ability. You don’t have to be limited by your weaknesses or even your strengths. I have encountered mantles several times in my life. Each time a divine empowerment came upon my life that lifted off limits and brought a new endowment of power. 

Luke 24:49 says, “Listen carefully: I am sending the Promise of My Father [the Holy Spirit] upon you; but you are to remain in the city [of Jerusalem] until you are clothed (fully equipped) with power from on high.”

The Holy Spirit endows us with power by clothing us with Himself. 

When I have encountered a mantle I could feel it. Because I have strong discernment in the spirit, I could physically feel a blanket like garment cover over my head and body. It was invisible to the eye, but I could very much feel it physically over my body. I’ve encountered prophetic mantles, revival mantles and mass crusade mantels. But there are so many more! And you can have MORE than one. 

GOD HAS A UNIQUE MANTLE FOR YOU

Each of us have a unique calling in God. Your mantle will be different and unique. I believe God is releasing mantles we have never seen before. It’s a season of fresh commissioning. God wants you to receive the mantle He has for you.
